Social Security Program:
From this upazila under social security program, a total of 9975 people through (a) old age allowance program, (b) widow and husband abandoned poor woman allowance program through total 5819 people, (c) indigent disability allowance program through total 2147 people and (d) disabled students. Education stipend has been provided to a total of 154 people through education stipend program. Poverty alleviation and socio-economic development program.
Under the poverty alleviation and socio-economic development program, rural social service activities, acid burn and rehabilitation activities for the disabled are being implemented in this upazila. (A) 199 / - (three crore two lakh seventy eight thousand one hundred and ninety nine) rupees; 9,72 backward families of this upazila and
(B) the total amount allocated in this upazila for the loan activities conducted under the rehabilitation program for the burnt and handicapped persons is Rs. This has made 315 backward and disabled people of this upazila self-reliant by giving loans. Disability Identification Survey:
Survey activities were conducted in Bagmara Upazila through disability prevention JP program. The number of persons with disabilities in different categories identified through this survey - 3414 people were identified and identity cards were distributed among them. Voluntary Organizations and Community Empowerment: Registration has been provided to 65 voluntary organizations in this upazila. Institutions that are playing an important role in the economic development of the society including conducting various social awareness activities.
